Preservation
Protecting and celebrating the historic character of Poplar Bluff for future generations.
Why Preserve Our History?
Historic preservation is about more than saving old buildings—it's about maintaining the character and identity of our community. Each historic structure tells a story of the people who came before us.
When we preserve our historic downtown and landmarks, we create economic opportunities through heritage tourism, maintain property values, and provide a sense of place that connects us to our roots.
Poplar Bluff's rich history as a railroad hub and river town deserves to be celebrated and protected for future generations to experience and appreciate.
