Poplar Bluff's original City Hall survived the devastating 1927 tornado.
The Story
The old City Hall served as the center of municipal government in Poplar Bluff until it was demolished in the 1980's. It survived the catastrophic tornado of May 9, 1927. The tornado killed 86 people and caused over $4 million in property damage, forever changing the face of downtown Poplar Bluff.
