The Story

Mathis-Macom Store Co. was a grocer and general store operated by John Macom. The business was located at 401-403 Vine (1929) and later at 128 N Broadway (1931). Documented in the 1929 city directory under dry goods/grocers and the 1931 directory.

Earlier sources show the location in the 300 block of vine. It appears the Macon Store later replaced the Allison Mercantile Store in the 400 block of Vine.
