The Bluff (1930) is the yearbook of Poplar Bluff High School, Poplar Bluff, Missouri. This surviving original volume is part of the Historic Poplar Bluff Collection and has been digitized as HPB-YB-1930 for preservation and public access. This particular copy has a documented personal connection to the graduating class: it belonged to Dolly Madeline Vaden (1912–2005), a member of the Poplar Bluff High School Class of 1930. Her fellow senior William S. "Bill" Edmonds (1911–2000) would later become her husband. The couple married in 1938 and settled in Kemmerer, Wyoming, in 1939, where William established a law practice that continued for approximately 50 years. The provenance gives this volume significance beyond its contents as a school yearbook — it is a surviving artifact that belonged to one of the students pictured within its pages, preserving a tangible connection to two members of Poplar Bluff's Class of 1930. The digital reproduction preserves the original page order and, wherever practical, the physical characteristics of the surviving book, including handwriting, signatures, inscriptions, markings, wear, discoloration, and damage. Only minor adjustments such as cropping, alignment, exposure, contrast, or color may be made to improve digital readability, following the same archival approach established for the 1929 volume.
About This Digital Copy
Pages are presented as they appear in the original volume. Historic Poplar Bluff has not digitally removed inscriptions, aging, printing characteristics or other evidence of the book's history. OCR has been added to improve searching and accessibility; because of the age and typography of the original publication, OCR text may contain errors.
