CHRYSLER and PLYMOUTH Sales and Service. 418 Vine Street Phone One-Oh "HONKY" Body Rebuilders Wrecker Service
Homer L. "Honkey" Garner's automobile business moved into the former Williams Brothers quarters at the Frank building in 1922, initially as Garner Brothers (Homer and Alva A. Garner). Alva sold his interest to Homer in March 1923. The June 1923 flood swept six feet of water through the garage, and the 1924 Sanborn map shows the property expanded to room for 75 automobiles. Garner Motor Company sold and serviced Chrysler and Plymouth cars and advertised itself as an automobile headquarters for Southeast Missouri. The May 9, 1927 tornado blew the second story off the building and damaged the first; J. J. Frank restored it as a two-story structure that summer.
