Frankie Brickell

b. 1906

Biography

Frankie Brickell (born about 1906) appears in two surviving editions of The Bluff, the Poplar Bluff High School yearbook, both held in the Historic Poplar Bluff Digital Archives. In the 1921 edition she is listed as a freshman and as a member of the Convincer's Debating Society. In the 1923 edition she is listed as a junior, and her junior-class portrait is preserved there. A class item in the 1923 volume notes that she received Dorothy Young's curling irons. Both volumes carry handwritten inscriptions bearing her name. The 1921 copy is inscribed "Frankie Brickell"; the 1923 copy is inscribed "Frankie 'B' / Jr. '22-'23". The shared name and initial and the sequence of school years suggest the inscriptions may refer to the same student, but that connection has not been confirmed.
